I myself have absolutely no in-depths technical knowledge about hydraulic breaking systems. But I do know that pretty much all road cars have much larger brake disks in the front than in the rear. That would make for a different balance even if the same pressure is applied in the system.
With current rally cars, it seems to be a bit different. The Fabia R5 for example has the same brake disc diameters front and rear. The '17 Fiesta WRC has equal sizes on gravel, but a little bit smaller brake discs on the rear in tarmac spec. Both based on quick Google research.
Maybe the older WRCs had even higher differences in the disc diameters?

The reason behind it could of course be a completely different one. Must be a lot more complicated I reckon, otherwise Bee just would have explained the reason for that behavior in one sentence...

Ye, its good explain. But Fabia R5 have 355x32 in front and 300x32 on rear.

That depends.

https://www.customspeed.at/2017/04/24/brembo-skoda-fabia-r5-update-042017/

I have thousands of documents, have modeled 200 cars, and always have to make compromises or assumptions about which of the various sources is correct or trustworthy.

Several sources claim 355/355 for the R5 tarmac spec.
So I used this combination, as it is anyway better for the brake temperatures in the long run, especially when drivers do a lot of LFB(raking).

About the brake pressures in the setup:
As WBK pointed out, it is not that simple.
Depends on piston diameters/areas, number of pistons, size of disc, size of pads, COF, wheel diameter, static/dynamic load on tyre, ..., all this is crucial and calculated/simulated.

So, it just does not make sense to make a screenshot and apply some arbitrary "logic" here. wink

Hello Bee,
I was today on testing cars before season by technical marshall and there was my friend with Skoda Fabia R5. I spoke with him about your physics and so, and he explain me and shows some things. You are right with the steering lock. Its not so much as in a basic car. But he has 540° steering and he told me, that he never used it at all, including in hairpins. Maximum, what he used is about 135° on one side.. so he try to explain, that the steering is very sharp.

Next thing, what he explain is brakes. He told, that there is no central diff, brakes is on fix. He told, that if he get front brakes down, it will be no difference in brake bias, because of non central diff, all mechanical things will brakes a front of car. So brake bias is always same, he no need regulator because it will be uneffective.
He said, you can put front brake disc on rear, it will be 355/355 front/rear, but he used 355 on front and 300 on rear. But, in generally, brake bias will be same, as I wrote up.

We talk about suspension too, he told me, front and rear suspensions is same, you can put RL to FR for example, it will be same. But in Skoda Motorsport its only some springs, which is develop on this car. I screened a data sheet. So its not like in RBR now, that you can adjust whatever you want. Its same with Slow and Fast compresion and rebound. Its only several clicks, which you can see on data sheet in link.

About weight bias, he said, Fabia R5 is 55:45 on tarmac and 56:44 on gravel. You can see it in data sheet. He told me, if he had a Fabia WRC, and on old WRC and on new WRC it is weight bias 50:50.

He told me, that he tries a lots of "rally sims" but no one have a clearly steering. This is what I said too. In RBR, if you set wheel on 540° which is on real, you cant handle a Fabia R5 or WRC. The steering must be sharp !

Here is datasheet from Fabia R5.

New feature available, adjustable handbrake pressure in the differential torque menu:

Klicke auf das Bild um das Bild in der Originalgröße zu öffnen.

NGP Plugin updated to version 6.0.733.395 !

All car physics updated !

Please update the plugin and "all existing physics" via the RBRCIT menu as usual.

R5 cars modified to ~55/45 weight distribution.

Handbrake pressure settings per default are t/g/s 100/75/80%.

Just another parameter I can do wrong in my shitty standard setups. biggrin
Feel free to complain as usual. I won't care anyway ...

Have fun and a nice weekend, testing. smile

Mght be a silly question but you say "all car physics updated".

Is that All of the cars or just the test cars?

Really looking forward to getting my hands on this but waiting for the final polish to go on. It looks GREAT so far though.

Also, is there any plans to include the Mk2 Escort and newly released Stratos with NGP?

happyboy asked whether all cars has benn updated.
I am pretty sure WorkerBee updated those few NGP 6 cars and is now preparing & testing the rest. Huge amount of work I believe...

New NGP plugin version 6.0.734.397 available !

Good news:

* new car
** Ford Fiesta WRC 2019 (model by G. Rodriguez & D. Antonelli)

(Bad) news:

The new plugin version requires updated car physics !

So please feel free to update the plugin, the car list and all existing NGP 6 car physics via the RBRCIT menu, as usual.

Please also note that a new FixUp version 3.0 is available, which I recommend to use as well.

Have fun ! smile

Nice one! Porridge loves BIG news, no matter if good or bad.

However, there's something wrong with that Fiesta. If you hit something flat out, like a big rock or a bale (maybe it doesn't even matter what you hit), the game crashes with runtime error.

EDIT. OK, after further testing with other cars, it seems the issue is inconsistent. I got the game to crash with Audi Quattro Grp4 and Skoda Fabia R5 too, but also at times I've managed to escape CTD with all of the mentioned cars. For testing I've used a bale at 575m in Kormoran Shakedown. So I don't know. Would have to test with NGP5 too. Usually something like this would only point to flawed audio but I don't remember installing any custom sfx.

WorkerBee loves when you attach some files like replays or dmp files to the described problem. in this case, dmp.

I'd love to share a dmp file, of course, but this issue is yet to create one, and it's clearly never going to.

Many thanks for the info.

Is it related to the new FixUp or only NGP 6 ?

Not a good idea to do two updates at once, maybe. sad

I will try to reproduce this somehow.

EDIT:
ok, seems that I have somehow made a stupid mistake.
At least I can reproduce the issue.
Don't know yet why it crashes in the end.
Stay tuned.
As a workaround: don't crash too hard !! lol

Just came back from another 45 minute session of crashing into things and... considering that I wasn't able to make the game crash with the old NGP5 Audi alongside the new Fixup v3, I'd say it's not FixUp that's causing it, it'd be NGP6. Or something else. It could be my installation that's falling apart, but it's probably worth pointing out that I wasn't really the first driver to encounter this issue today, someone else got the first taste about 10 minutes before porridge.

(Shame I didn't keep the previous physics version just in case but I can always test something else before the day is out and I'll then edit this post, results or not.)

EDIT. Read your edit, Bee, good to hear that you've been able to at least reproduce it...

Good news, bug is fixed and deployed.
As soon as you lost some part (bumper, door, ...) the plugin crashed.
No big deal.

Please update the plugin via RBRCIT.

Cars not affected, only the plugin has been changed.

Thank you for testing.

workerbee, this version of ngp definitely adds some complexity to the physics, making it more rich, specially how the car moves, suspension, etc.
Although, for testing purposes I wanted to ask if there is a place where I could get the old 3.1ngp? On gravel it had something more gradual when counter steering which I can't seem to reenact even with a lot of setup change in this new version of ngp.
Im not saying ngp6 is not an improvement, I just want to experience 3.1 again to better understand what I feel in this particular case.
Or if someone knows where and how to have 3.1 again, please feel free to tell me.
Thank you

I heard that the BTB stages don't start with the current NGP version, I checked it and that's indeed the case. (No dmp files created)

Also I do have a clear problem with launching the game, it takes hell of a lot of time, and seemingly I'm not the only one (having read the fixup thread). Sure, I have HDD instead of SSD, and it's also true that I haven't defragmented the drive in months, but I'd imagine it shouldn't take 70-72 seconds, when at the same time running the game with any NGP5 car pack load for about 20 seconds. And it's not the new FixUp, as I tested with the previous version too.

Thanks for all the bug reports.

New version 6.0.736.400 available:

* fixed handling of damaged car
* much faster initial loading sequence

And yes, I have even tested a tarmac BTB stage with the rx plugin (the 2009 one if that does matter anyway).

Feel free to test !
